What’s Local This Week
This week the tomatoes and the spinach are from BC!
This Week on The Farm
Growing Opportunities is a wonderful team of urban farmers and volunteers dedicated to sharing agricultural skills, growing good food and supporting Nanaimo’s food system. They support the Good Food Box program by providing as much of our produce as possible through the year at discounted rates.
“This week we welcomed Snuneymuwx knowledge keeper Dave Bodaly to join the Farm To School BC Spring Celebration Field trips alongside Ben Glassen of Glassen Farms. With help from our Katimavik volunteers and Farm Manager Sabrina, students toured the production spaces at the Cline Agri-Health Centre and planted pollinator plants to attract Beneficial insects.
Saturday, we hosted our first farm market at Five Acres Farm, selling veggies and starter plants!”
