Discover the Good Food Box
We reduce the cost of healthy food by buying direct from farms and wholesalers and having an amazing large team of over 50 volunteers pack and distribute hundreds of Good Food Boxes each week!
Nanaimo Foodshare’s Good Food Box Program started with the idea back in 1998 just prior to Nanaimo Foodshare becoming a society. The idea was adopted from the Toronto Foodshare’s Good Food Box program. Nanaimo Foodshare’s GFB program has grown substantially from the small handful of customers who purchased a $10 Good Food Box once a month back at the turn of the millenium. Now, 20 plus years later, with 500-900 Good Food Boxes produced and distributed every Thursday all year round in Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Gabriola, Nanoose Bay and Parksville. Some of the original volunteers still remain volunteering for the Good Food Box Program!
Let us introduce you to the Good Food Box…

Everyone is able to purchase a Good Food Box and the more people who purchase, the better the prices we get on fresh fruits and veggies. Community power at it’s best!

Why Order a Good Food Box?
Buying together helps us “stretch our dollar” and increase our access to real food. This is a great way to save money, increase your access to fresh fruits and vegetables and support others in the community by combining your dollars.
